I am so pleased to be part of REBT UK and ensuring that high quality, professional training in REBT is provided in the UK.
I have worked for the NHS in clinical and forensic psychology roles for 28 years. I have been a supervisor in REBT since 2006. I had the privilege of being a Summer Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute in 2004. Since then, I have been involved in running the UK Affiliated Training Centre in collaboration with Peter. I have enjoyed every Primary and revel in the opportunity to test my knowledge and skills so as to help others to learn and improve their practice.

Why I am passionate about REBT?
I will confess straightaway that I have a passion for REBT which has only grown stronger since my first introduction to it as a practicing clinical psychologist in 1979. Today - 41 years later - Â despite many tempting alternatives with the exponential growth of CBTs in the in-between years, I remain even more convinced of its potential effectiveness in the right hands. Of course critics will say passion is irrelevant, as the only criterion you should follow is the evidence-base. But actually the evidence shows there is not a lot to choose between the different CBTs over and above a good therapeutic alliance, and a big factor in that is the 'passion' of the therapist for the adopted therapeutic model - her or his commitment to and belief in the values and philosophy of that approach. What is more, even though it is the first and oldest of the CBTs, REBT always contained within it principles which became 'discoveries' in newer forms of CBT. I personally became a more effective therapist for a wider range of mental health problems, including psychosis - a problem previously neglected.
